NOVA Volleyball Club Red Deer was founded by Siew Weldon in August 2026 starting with U17 Girls with a simple vision: to create a different kind of volleyball experience for young athletes in Central Alberta.
NOVA was born from the belief that players thrive when they are given the right combination of quality coaching, meaningful challenge, encouragement, and opportunity. From the beginning, the goal has been to create an environment where athletes can develop their skills, grow in confidence, build strong connections with their teammates, and discover a genuine love for the game.
NOVA may be new, but our journey is just beginning.
At NOVA, we believe great athletes are developed through more than wins and losses. Our coaching focuses on strong fundamentals, continuous growth, and learning to embrace challenges along the way.
We create a positive and supportive environment where athletes are encouraged to push themselves, make mistakes, learn, and keep growing. We believe setbacks are an important part of development — helping players build the confidence, resilience, and strength they need both on and off the court.
Our goal is to help every athlete reach their potential while building something just as important: a lifelong love for volleyball and sport.
🏐 Strong fundamentals — building the skills that everything else depends on
💪 Confidence & resilience — learning to respond to challenges and setbacks
🤝 Positive team culture — supporting, respecting, and growing together
⭐ Reaching your potential — challenging every athlete to keep improving
❤️ Loving the game — because passion is what keeps athletes playing, learning, and growing
